VALE OF YORK WORKING RETRIEVER CLUB (KC 2263)

NOVICE & OPEN GUNDOG WORKING TEST FOR A/V RETRIEVER

SUNDAY, 2 APRIL 2023 AT BUSK HILL FARM, WESTOW

By kind permission of Mr James Needler

Magnificent views over the Yorkshire Wolds greeted all attending the Vale of York Working Retriever Club’s Novice and Open Working Gundog Tests at Busk Hill Farm, Westow today – Sunday, 2 April 2023. This was another stunning new ground to the VYWRC generously offered to us by James Needler (landowner).

Judging the day’s tests were Philippa Williams (B2800), Paul Stogden (B3661), Rebecca Thistle (NP) and Mark Wilson (NP).

Due to the recent rainfall the tests had to take place on the higher ground. Four static tests were formulated by each judge, these proved quite testing for both Novice and Open dogs which resulted with run offs in both the Novice and Open for 1st place.

Huge congratulations to all in the awards – they were as follows:

Massive thanks to our Judges – Philippa, Paul, Rebecca and Mark – for giving their time so freely today.

As always special gratitude must also go to all who helped with the day’s smooth running – both Committee and VYWRC Members – we are so very grateful.

Finally, thanks to our sponsors – Skinners Pet Foods and GundogTV. and to James Needler our host for the day.

We truly hope all who attended enjoyed their day in some much needed sunshine and we look forward to welcoming you all to our next test to be held at Gally Gap Farm, Westow on Sunday, 23 April 2023 – just a bit further down the road from Busk Hill!
