The Vale of York Working Retriever Club held their All-Aged Stake at Wykeham Estate by kind permission of The Viscount Downe with the support of Josh Beckett (Keeper) and Steward of the Beat.
Judges for the day were Sue Hales-Lowe, Paul Stogden, Julie Campbell and Mike Birchall who generously gave their time and expertise.
The day commenced with a walk up on tricky, rough ground testing both dogs and handlers alike – that finished and following a quick relocation we commenced the first drive of the day. The guns expertly dropped a steady stream of birds which allowed for some great retrieves whilst giving those left in the gallery a great view of the proceedings.
The end of the 4th round left 3 dogs still in the mix and following a run-off between 2 dogs the Trial was decided as follows:
1st: Claybrow Tranquil Lass handled by Arthur Telfair
2nd: Lonicerium Mace handled by Bill Emms
3rd: Eastgayle Phantom handled by Keith Eastwood
Guns Choice: Claybrow Tranquil Lass

Huge thanks go to the Judges, Brett and his fellow Guns, Josh Beckett and his team of beaters, picker ups, game carriers and Skinners who sponsored the day - without all of these supporters these days cannot go ahead. Thank you so very much.
I sincerely hope the day was enjoyed by all attending and huge congratulations to all those in the awards.
