The Vale of York Working Retriever Club was invited for the first time to compete in the inter club team event at Chatsworth House Country Fair. The club was represented by Margaret Pearce with Ebor, Claire Carvis with Midge and Eden Parrish with Flyn. The test was held in the beautiful grounds of the Chatsworth Estate, and thirteen teams travelled from different areas of the country to compete over two days on very challenging ground. Dogs were asked to retrieve in areas of bracken, over fences, and across the river. At the end of the first day the VOY Team were in the lead by quite a margin. Day 2, however, wasn't quite as successful and whilst we lost the overall lead we did finish the event with a very creditable third place. The first five placed teams are automatically invited back to compete the next year, so we will look forward to next year's event. Thanks must go to all the organisers and helpers for making it such a memorable weekend for all the teams. Margaret Pearce Vale of York WRC
